INDEPENDENCE supporters gathered in Dundee today for the latest All Under One Banner (AUOB) march.

The SNP's Stewart Hosie, MP for Dundee East, attended the march and estimated that somewhere in the region of 16,000 people turned out for the event.

It is the latest in a series of marches after similar events in Glasgow, Dumfries, Bannockburn and Inverness.

AUOB said that they will keep organising demonstrations unti Scotland gains independence.

The city centre was brought to a standstill with the march starting at Baxter Park and ending in Magdalen Park in the West End.

Neil Mackay, organiser with All Under One Banner, told the Courier: “Today was a great day with a lot of support. We are going to continue to keep doing these and put the pressure on the Scottish Government and the media until there is independence.

“The march was brilliant and we are going to tidy Magdalen Park up after us so that we leave it better than we found it.”

As expected, there was a counter protest arranged, which consisted of around 25 Unionist supporters.
