THE stars of Burnistoun are set to reunite for a special one-off episode this weekend.

Sunday night will see the Scottish comedy show revive characters such as Quality Police McGregor and Toshan, best friends Peter and Scott and, of course, the Up Eh Road guys.

The programme will also celebrate TV from recent years through its own distinctive filter.

The one-off special will feature the Burnistoun take on TV phenomenon Game of Thrones – titled Name of Thrones – (pictured), naughty gameshow Naked Attraction and Scottish hit outlander.

The gang will also parody a range of classic British game shows.

The episode, Burnistoun Tunes In, stars the show’s classic cast – including writers Robert Florence and Iain Connell, as well as Louise Stewart, Kirsty Strain, Gerry McLaughlin and Richard Rankin.

Burnistoun Tunes In is set to air on the new BBC Scotland channel on the evening of February 24, the night of its launch.

Florence tweeted about his excitement over the opportunity to help mark the occasion.

He wrote: “Very honoured that #Burnistoun has been trusted to help launch the brand new @BBCScotland channel. That’s right, we are LAUNCH NIGHT LEGENDS. Still Game and Burnistoun on the SAME NIGHT. The best of sitcom and sketch! Sunday 24th of February! SHARE THIS NEWS. #launchnightlegends.”

The award-winning comedy show, which was created by Comedy Unit Production for BBC Scotland, ran for three series from 2010 to 2012.

Writers Connell and Florence – who previously came up with characters for the likes of

Chewin’ The Fat and The Karen Dunbar Show – created hilariously quotable sketches about life in a fictional area of Greater Glasgow.

The one-off episode will be broadcast this Sunday at 10pm on the new BBC Scotland channel.
