THE Wee Ginger Dug couldn't make it this week, but National editor Callum Baird and columnist Paul Kavanagh were back in the studio for a new Wee Ginger Dugcast.

The duo were returned to the roadshow trail earlier this week, meeting National readers and serving up some reminders of old stories.

Paul also explains the heartwarming reason for why there was no Wee Ginger Dugcast last week!

They also discuss an update to The National's report today on the BBC not contacting pro-indy groups about its new show, but contacting Scotland In Union ... and why the BBC is acting so bizarrely on this.

Also, with the symptoms of sectarianism on display in Scotland this week, what is the source of the problem in the country?

And, of course, Labour and Tory MPs broke away to form The Independent Group this week – but what does that say about the UK and its electoral process?
