THE Scottish singer Annie Lennox has donated handwritten lyrics of the 1983 Eurythmics hit Sweet Dreams to a charity auction raising money for medical aid in Gaza.

The charity Medical Aid for Palestine – for whom The National’s fundraiser raised more than £100,000 – is hosting a Cinema For Gaza charity auction with a range of one-of-a-kind donations from celebrities in the world of music, film and TV.

As well as Lennox’s lyrics, people are able to bid for an hour long Zoom chat with Louis Theroux, a bedtime story from Tilda Swinton, and a signed proof copy of Frankie Boyle’s upcoming book.

The description of Lennox’s lot reads: “Annie Lennox is one of the most iconic, legendary and inspiring voices Scotland has ever produced.

“Both with the Eurythmics and as a solo artist, her music continues to reverberate around the world and now she's putting pen to paper for the highest bidder by generously donating a note with handwritten lyrics of timeless hit "Sweet Dreams" emblazoned on it. Just dreamy.”
